This talk is concerned with meta-structures composed of elastic beams connected with rigid bodies. Elastic beams are modeled with Timoshenko beam theory. By introducing a quasiperiodicity function, a quasiperiodic structure is obtained. In this way, controlled disorder is introduced into a spatially periodic structure. Such structures exhibit fractal spectra which resembles the Hofstadter’s butterfly, which can be observed when frequency is plotted against the quasiperiodicity parameter. Here we can observe some regions in which discrete branches passing through the band gaps show potential parameters at which edge modes and localized modes may occur.
报告人简介:
Nevena Rosić’s main research interests lie in the fields of theoretical and applied mechanics as well as biomedical engineering, with a specific focus on wave propagation in metastructures and thin beam phononics. She has published papers in journals such as Applied Mathematical Modelling, Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A, and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics. In addition, she holds a patent and participates in three national projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.
